The worst thing you are doing to your skin

Skin care is an essential part of makeup artistry and creating a great surface for makeup application! One of the major pillars of skin health is cleanliness. Did you know that leaving your makeup on overnight is just plain bad for your skin?

Here are a few reasons why:

  1. Makeup draws moisture out of your skin, allowing it to get trapped in the pores; oxygen that supplies the needed moisture to the skin can’t get past these blocked pores

  2. One dermatologist commented that from a single night of sleeping with your makeup on your skin needs about a week to restore its previous condition and become balanced again!

So what can you do to get your skin in the best condition before bed?

Laura suggests that you do the following:

Wash your face thoroughly with a cleansing soap and water — not forgetting your hairline and jawline

  • Be sure to rinse your face thoroughly — this will help slow down in making any current facial lines more prominent.

  • Rinse at least 10 times with warm water to remove dead skin cells, oil, and makeup.

Use Shake It Off makeup remover on a cotton pad and gently wipe away long-wearing makeup. If you encounter stubborn or hard-to-remove makeup, soak your cotton pad and press it to the problem area for 10-20 seconds before wiping the product away.

Continue your nightly regimen by applying your night time toners, moisturizers, etc.

It is important to add moisture back into your skin after cleansing it. This will help you continue to have a great foundation for your makeup application to showcase your Tori Belle products.
